Congratulations to our inaugural
Fellows Buffie Main & Brett Perry.
The Alexa Rose Fellow Award seeks to recognize established artists in the Treasure Valley through a $25,000 development fund, empowering individuals and raising the bar of what is possible in the Idaho arts community.
The Alexa Rose Foundation is devoted
to uplifting art appreciation and artists in the Boise Valley.
Alexa Rose Howell, a native New Yorker, lived with her husband in Boise for 40 years, until her death at age 65 in January, 2013. Alexa was a painter, a writer and poet, an actress, a puppeteer, a linguist, a pianist, a dancer, a teacher, a supporter of young artists, and a devoted wife and mother. Since 2015, Alexa’s Foundation has awarded 256 artists with grants of $500 to $5,000. These monetary gifts have funded travel, materials, equipment, tuition, work space, and production costs. Grantees include actors, writers, musicians, filmmakers, painters, puppeteers and aerialists.
