The Alexa Rose Foundation is devoted
to uplifting art appreciation and artists in the Boise Valley.
Alexa Rose Howell, a native New Yorker, lived with her husband in Boise for 40 years, until her death at age 65 in January, 2013. Alexa was a painter, a writer and poet, an actress, a puppeteer, a linguist, a pianist, a dancer, a teacher, a supporter of young artists, and a devoted wife and mother. Since 2015, Alexa’s Foundation has awarded 256 artists with grants of $500 to $5,000. These monetary gifts have funded travel, materials, equipment, tuition, work space, and production costs. Grantees include actors, writers, musicians, filmmakers, painters, puppeteers and aerialists.
